Prosperity Network OSJ "Wins"

January 23, 2026

The Prosperity Network OSJ does more than supervise, we also advocate for you. Below is a list of situations that our Prosperity Network Compliance team was able to successfully advocate and use our sphere of influence to make a positive impact in 2025.

  • Smoother Audits: In 2025, the Prosperity Network Compliance team provided explanations to Cetera’s internal audit team so that audit findings were removed for four different advisors. In addition, due to our supervisory follow up and documentation, an advisor commented that he had exactly what he needed to answer an auditor during his audit. This made the audit go smoother and prevented an audit finding.
  • Disciplinary action avoided: The Prosperity Network Compliance team regularly engages with Cetera Supervision and Cetera Compliance so as to prevent letters of discipline being issued to our advisors. In 2025, due to our compliance team’s explanations and engagement, six advisors did not receive a planned letter of education. Instead, Cetera accepted the OSJ’s detailed notes and the education provided to the advisors by the OSJ in lieu of a letter of discipline.
  • Exceptions granted: The Prosperity Network Compliance team strives to use common sense whenever Cetera considers a transaction or submission as Not In Good Order (NIGO). When appropriate, we are able to request exceptions to standard policy based on the facts and circumstances of the situation.
    • Examples in 2025:
      • A Trustee Certification form contained very slight errors. The Network Compliance team successfully requested an exception that only the rep’s initials would be required to resolve the NIGO. This prevented the rep from having to go back to the client for their initials.
      • The date of birth on an AIF was incorrect, which normally requires client initials to resolve. Because there was other signed paperwork that had the correct date of birth listed, the Network Compliance team successfully requested an exception that only the rep’s initials would be required to resolve the NIGO. This prevented the rep from having to go back to the client for their initials.
      • An advisor was having an enormously difficult time submitting an OBA update. It went back and forth in the L&R tool several times which caused extreme frustration to the advisor. The advisor was also going through a very difficult personal situation. The Network Compliance team successfully reached out to Cetera Compliance and provided the updated information via an email so that the advisor did not have to try again to submit the OBA in the L&R tool.
    • Time sensitive or “sticky” situations resolved: The Prosperity Network Compliance team regularly engages with various Cetera teams and employees to help resolve time-sensitive or “sticky” situations.
      • Examples in 2025:
        • The Network Compliance team worked with Cetera Ad Review directly to have certain time-sensitive items reviewed and approved quickly. Sometimes in less than 15 minutes!
        • Members of the Network Compliance team have been granted special “delegate” access to some advisors in certain scenarios so that difficult or time-sensitive items are entered into Pinpoint Ad Review quickly and in good order.
        • An advisor needed a solution to the 2-step authentication requirement to access important websites, as they often forget their cell phone. The Prosperity Network OSJ was able to assist with setting up the advisor’s office number (instead of their cell phone) as an option for authentication.
