Non-Registered Associated Persons (also known as Non-Registered Fingerprinted Persons NRF)
- If you do not have a series 7 or series 6 registration, you are considered a non-registered person.
- Non-registered persons may NOT engage in any activities or duties requiring securities or advisory registration.
- Some permissible activities non-registered associated persons may handle include clerical and administerial tasks such as opening mail, maintaining customer records, and filing.
- Some prohibited activities include providing any investment information or advice, discussing fund or portfolio performance, and accepting any transaction orders from a client (even unsolicited orders).

- Non-registered associated persons are responsible for knowing the limitations and adhering to the firm’s policies.
Registered Administrative Persons (also known as Non-Producing Registered Persons)
- Registered administrative personnel do not have their own errors & omissions insurance coverage. Instead, E&O coverage is provided under the coverage of the employing registered representative.
- Some permissible activities include accepting non-solicited orders from a client, writing administrative letters to clients with the producing rep’s approval, and scheduling appointments.
- Some prohibited activities include commenting in any way on the market or specific stocks, discussing client holdings, and soliciting orders.

- Registered administrative representatives are responsible for knowing the limitations and adhering to the firm’s policies.
